This drives up premiums, harms insurers, wastes public funds, and makes patients pay more. The report recommends leveraging AI, improving data sharing through Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission and National Health Claim Exchange, and standardizing medical coding to curb these inefficiencies. Medi Assist is already deploying AI solutions for real-time fraud detection and streamlined cashless claims.
