Wendt India Q2 Profit Doubles to ₹6 Crore

Wendt (India) Ltd reported a net profit of ₹6 crore for the quarter ended September 2026, a 100% rise year-on-year. Revenue grew 28% to ₹72 crore, supported by higher sales volumes. The company, part of the Murugappa Group, managed to improve profitability by controlling manufacturing costs despite rising raw material prices.

Wendt (India) Ltd, a manufacturer specializing in grinding tools, reported a strong performance for the second quarter of the 2027 fiscal year. The company saw its net profit double to ₹6 crore for the period ending September 30, 2026, compared to ₹3 crore in the same quarter last year. Revenue also grew significantly, reaching ₹72 crore, which is a 28% increase from the previous year.

The improvement in profit was largely driven by higher sales volumes across the company's core product lines. Despite facing pressure from rising input costs—which is a common challenge in the industrial manufacturing sector—the company implemented measures to manage its expenses better. By streamlining its manufacturing processes, the firm was able to protect its profit margins, leading to the sharp increase in the bottom line.

Wendt India produces super-abrasive tools, which are essential for precision grinding in industries like automotive, steel, and aerospace. Because these industries rely heavily on industrial machinery, their demand cycles directly impact the company's performance. As part of the Murugappa Group, the company benefits from a stable corporate structure, but its results remain sensitive to the overall health of the domestic manufacturing and engineering sectors.

Domestic demand remains the primary revenue source for the company, bringing in ₹48 crore during the quarter. This marks a 22% increase compared to the same period in 2025. Exports also contributed to the total growth, with revenue from international markets reaching ₹11 crore, a 6% increase. The company noted that it saw consistent demand from regions like Europe and South East Asia, despite the complex global supply chain environment.

For investors, the key monitorable remains the company's ability to maintain these margins as it navigates raw material price volatility. Since manufacturing inputs are often tied to global commodity trends, any sudden spike in material costs could pressure the company’s profitability in future quarters. Investors will likely track whether the current sales momentum in the domestic market continues to support growth in the second half of the fiscal year.
