Raymond Q2 Profit Doubles; Engineering Segments Drive Growth

Raymond reported a net profit of ₹22 crore for the September quarter, driven by strong growth in its aerospace, defense, and precision technology divisions. While engineering segments showed clear momentum, the realty arm saw revenue growth but a slight dip in quarterly profit. Investors are monitoring the company’s ability to convert its ₹52,000 crore real estate development potential into steady cash flow.

Raymond reported a net profit of ₹22 crore for the quarter ending in September, doubling from ₹11 crore in the same period last year. The company’s revenue climbed 24 percent to ₹655 crore during this period. While operating expenses reached ₹641 crore, the company managed to increase its earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization by 30 percent to ₹103 crore, signaling better operational efficiency across its core businesses.

The growth was largely supported by the company’s non-textile operations, which have become a significant focus area. The precision technology and auto components division contributed ₹471 crore, while the aerospace and defense business added ₹139 crore to the revenue. Chairman and Managing Director Gautam Hari Singhania highlighted that the new manufacturing facility in Andhra Pradesh is moving forward as planned. This project is expected to enhance the company’s capacity to turn its order book into high-margin returns, a factor that investors may track as the facility nears completion.

Raymond Realty’s performance presented a mix of growth and pressure. The real estate division saw its revenue rise to ₹749 crore with an operating profit of ₹115 crore. However, net profit for the division fell to ₹53 crore from ₹60 crore a year ago. Despite the dip in bottom-line profit, the real estate business showed operational progress. Collections surged by 67 percent, and the division achieved higher pre-sales without the need for launching new projects, suggesting strong demand for existing inventory. Harmohan Sahni, Managing Director and CEO of Raymond Realty, noted that the division has successfully completed a tower in Thane 18 months ahead of the regulatory schedule, a record that may serve as a positive signal for buyers and investors regarding execution reliability.

Looking ahead, the real estate business has a significant pipeline, with future launches in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region valued at over ₹4,100 crore. The division holds a gross development value of ₹52,000 crore, supported by a land bank of 100 acres, with 65 acres currently in various stages of development across eight joint projects. For investors, the key monitorable will be the company’s ability to maintain margin stability in the real estate sector while scaling up its aerospace and precision engineering operations. The progress of the Andhra Pradesh plant and the pace of new project launches in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region will also be important areas for investors to follow in the coming quarters.
