Ratnaveer Precision Rallies 14% on Q1 Profit Jump and ₹472 Cr Expansion

Ratnaveer Precision Engineering shares rose 14% after reporting a 22% increase in Q1 net profit to ₹18.24 crore. The company announced a ₹472 crore investment into Copper Clad Laminate production, marking a strategic entry into the electronics materials sector.

Detailed Coverage

Ratnaveer Precision Engineering shares ended Monday’s trading session 14% higher at ₹204 on the National Stock Exchange. The rally follows the company's disclosure of its financial performance for the first quarter ending June 2026, which showed both higher earnings and revenue compared to the same period last year.

The company reported a net profit of ₹18.24 crore for the quarter, up from ₹14.95 crore a year ago. Revenue from operations reached ₹315 crore, marking a 19% growth over the ₹265 crore reported in the June 2025 quarter. This performance reflects the company’s ongoing operations in stainless steel and niche engineering products.

Diversifying into Electronics Materials

Alongside the financial results, Ratnaveer Precision announced a significant capital expansion into the electronics sector. The company plans to establish a Copper Clad Laminate (CCL) manufacturing unit with an investment of ₹472.34 crore. Copper Clad Laminate is a foundational material used in the production of printed circuit boards (PCBs), which are essential components in electronics ranging from consumer devices to industrial machinery.

This project has received in-principle approval under the Gujarat Electronics Policy. Additionally, the company is set to invest ₹338 crore over the next three years under the government’s Electronics Components Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS). These moves suggest a strategic shift for the company as it attempts to lower its reliance on traditional stainless steel products and move toward higher-value electronics components.

Strategic Context and Execution Risk

The company’s push into electronics aligns with wider national initiatives such as the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme and the India Semiconductor Mission. While these government policies often provide financial support or tax benefits to manufacturers, investors should monitor the company's ability to transition into a new, high-technology product segment.

Executing a project of this scale—totaling over ₹800 crore when combining the CCL project and the ECMS investment—is a significant undertaking for a company of this size. Investors may track the timeline for project commissioning, how the company intends to fund this heavy capital spending, and whether the debt levels increase as a result. Maintaining profit margins during this period of high spending will be a key area for shareholders to observe. The success of this move will depend on whether the company can successfully manufacture and sell these specialized materials in a competitive market that currently imports a significant portion of its electronic components.
