Corporate Prudence Measures
PwC India has announced a strategic shift towards greater prudence and fiscal discipline, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent appeal for austerity. The professional services firm is tightening its oversight on employee travel and reaffirming its commitment to flexible working arrangements.
Stricter Travel Protocols
As part of these measures, PwC India employees have been advised to rigorously reassess all domestic and international travel plans. Trips will now be undertaken only when there is a demonstrable and clear business requirement, signaling a significant recalibration of travel expenditure. This initiative is framed as an extension of the firm's existing guidance on prudent decision-making and operational efficiency.
Flexible Work Framework
The firm also reiterated that its flexible working framework will continue, enabling teams to effectively meet client requirements while sustaining productivity and collaboration. This stance comes in response to the Prime Minister's suggestion for the private sector to consider work-from-home options until conditions stabilize.
Economic Outlook
Sanjeev Krishan, Chairperson of PwC India, emphasized the firm's dedication to supporting clients and businesses with discipline and responsibility. He expressed confidence in India's resilient medium- to long-term economic outlook, attributing it to structural reforms and ongoing fiscal consolidation, despite prevailing global uncertainties.
