NBCC (India) Ltd has won a contract worth about ₹252.8 crore from the Odisha School Education Programme Authority. The deal involves upgrading facilities at 46 schools across various districts in Odisha, under Phase-II of the Godabarisha Mishra Adarsha Prathamika Vidyalaya (GMAPV) scheme. The project, secured from the Bhubaneswar-based authority, will be handled by NBCC’s project management consultancy segment. The stated order value does not include Goods and Services Tax (GST).

Boosting Infrastructure Portfolio

This latest contract is a key addition to NBCC's existing order book, highlighting its capabilities in managing public infrastructure and education development projects. By securing this domestic deal, NBCC reinforces its role in advancing the country's educational facilities.

Recent Financial Performance

NBCC's financial results for the December quarter (Q3 FY26) presented mixed results. Consolidated net profit jumped 39.3% year-on-year to ₹193 crore and revenue grew 7.6% to ₹3,022 crore. However, operating performance faced challenges, with Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization (EBITDA) declining 21% year-on-year to ₹114.5 crore. Consequently, the EBITDA margin narrowed to 3.8% from 5.2% in the prior year.

Stock Movement and Clarity

Shares of NBCC (India) Ltd closed Friday's trading session on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) up 4.30% at ₹101.01, against a backdrop of general market activity. The company also issued a clarification that the contract awarded by the domestic entity does not constitute a related-party transaction.
