Mazagon Dock Shares Rise 2% as Q1 Profit Jumps 21%

Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders shares climbed 2.15% to Rs 2,569 on Monday following strong June 2026 quarter results. Net profit grew by 21.5% to Rs 549.41 crore, supported by a 12% revenue increase. Investors are now monitoring the order book status and upcoming defense contract opportunities to gauge future growth.

Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders saw its share price rise by 2.15% to trade at Rs 2,569.00 on Monday, August 10, 2026. The move follows the release of the company's financial results for the quarter ending June 2026, which showed a healthy increase in both revenue and profit compared to the same period last year.

The company reported a revenue of Rs 2,942.70 crore for the quarter, marking a 12.08% rise year-on-year. Net profit grew at a faster pace, increasing by 21.51% to Rs 549.41 crore. The firm continues to maintain a debt-free balance sheet, which is a significant factor often noted by investors in capital-intensive industries like shipbuilding.

Along with the financial update, the company announced a final dividend of Rs 4.62 per share. Investors holding the stock should note that the record date for this payout is August 20, 2026, which determines who is eligible to receive the dividend.

While the recent growth figures are positive, investors are also tracking the company's order backlog. As of June 30, 2026, the order book stood at Rs 18,218 crore, a decline from the Rs 20,535 crore reported as of March 31, 2026. This reduction typically occurs as the company completes its ongoing projects. Because defense companies rely on long-term contracts for steady revenue, the speed at which the company replaces completed projects with new ones is a key monitorable.

The stock currently trades at a valuation of approximately 10.5 times its book value, a level that analysts often compare against peers in the defense sector. The company’s growth outlook is heavily tied to its ability to secure major upcoming defense deals, most notably the Project 75I submarine contract and additional orders for Kalvari-class submarines. Whether the company can win these large-scale contracts will be the primary factor influencing its long-term revenue visibility.
