Lohia Corp Lists at 8% Premium: Opens at Rs 460.10

Lohia Corp shares began trading on the NSE with an 8.26% gain over the issue price of Rs 425. The Rs 1,101.28 crore public issue saw healthy demand, with an overall subscription of 7.25 times. The firm is a major player in technical textile machinery, holding significant market shares both in India and internationally.

Lohia Corp made its stock market debut on July 30, 2026, with shares opening at Rs 460.10 on the National Stock Exchange (NSE). This represents a premium of 8.26% over its final IPO price of Rs 425 per share. The stock saw a similar start on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), where it listed at Rs 460, reflecting an 8.24% increase. Shortly after the debut, the company reached a market capitalization of approximately Rs 4,859.90 crore.

The initial public offering, which was conducted through an offer for sale of 2.59 crore shares, concluded earlier this week with strong interest from different investor categories. The issue was subscribed 7.25 times overall. Qualified Institutional Buyers drove a large part of this interest with a subscription rate of 9.11 times, while Non-Institutional Investors and retail participants saw subscription rates of 6.82 times and 2.77 times, respectively. Because this was an offer for sale, all proceeds from the share sale go to the existing shareholders rather than the company.

Business Context and Market Standing

Lohia Corp operates in the niche area of technical textile machinery. It focuses on equipment used to produce polypropylene and high-density polyethylene woven fabrics and sacks. These products are vital for various packaging and industrial applications, ranging from agricultural bags to industrial liners. The company has secured a dominant position in the domestic raffia machinery market with an 80 percent market share, while also maintaining a 17.5 percent share in the global market. Its business model relies on continuous research and development, backed by a portfolio of patents, which helps it maintain its presence in highly specialized machinery segments.

Investor Monitorables and Outlook

Following the listing, brokerage house Kantilal Chhaganlal Securities Pvt. Ltd. has maintained a hold rating on the stock. The brokerage suggested that investors with a longer-term horizon may retain their positions, citing the company's export-oriented model and established leadership as key strengths. However, as with any manufacturing-focused business, the company’s future performance will likely depend on the cyclical nature of the textile industry, global export demand, and its ability to maintain profit margins amid fluctuating material costs. Investors may keep track of future quarterly earnings to see how the company utilizes its current capacity and manages its business in a competitive global market.
