Knack Packaging reported a 25 percent rise in quarterly net profit to ₹25 crore, supported by a 53 percent revenue increase to ₹295 crore. Despite strong growth, rising polymer and freight costs have put pressure on profit margins. Management plans to implement price revisions in the coming quarter to manage these input cost challenges.
Knack Packaging posted a resilient financial performance for the September quarter of fiscal year 2027, balancing strong demand with rising operational expenses. The company reported a net profit of ₹25 crore, reflecting a 25 percent growth compared to ₹20 crore in the same period last year. Revenue saw a sharper increase, climbing 53 percent to ₹295 crore from ₹193 crore reported a year ago.
The results highlight the company's ability to drive top-line growth through both domestic and international markets. However, the business environment has remained challenging due to external cost pressures. Volatility in crude oil prices has directly impacted the cost of polymer, which is a key raw material for packaging products. Additionally, global logistical disruptions, particularly along Red Sea freight routes, have increased transportation costs. These combined factors have led to a contraction in operating margins, as the pace of expense growth has occasionally outstripped revenue gains.
To address these profit margin pressures, leadership has announced plans for price revisions. Management expects these changes to fully reflect in the company’s financial performance starting from the third quarter of fiscal year 2027, provided that market conditions remain stable. Alpesh Tulsibhai Patel, Chairman and Managing Director, stated that the company’s balanced business mix and long-standing client relationships have been critical in sustaining performance despite the industry-wide headwinds.
Looking ahead, the company is prioritizing a strategy focused on long-term scalability. This involves expanding manufacturing capacity, investing in innovation, and emphasizing sustainability to maintain its competitive edge. For investors and market observers, the key focus will be on the company’s ability to successfully pass on increased input costs to customers without losing volume. Future quarterly results will be important to track to see if the planned price hikes effectively restore profit margins amidst ongoing volatility in raw material and freight costs.
