India is prioritizing the procurement of Rare Earth Elements (REEs) and other critical minerals through recycling and international Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs). A new ₹1,500 crore incentive scheme, part of the National Critical Mineral Mission, aims to build domestic recycling capacity for materials like lithium, cobalt, and nickel from e-waste and battery scrap over six years (FY25-26 to FY30-31). India is also in talks with countries like the US, Peru, and Chile for partnerships, alongside existing collaborations with Australia and the UK.
