Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) will begin delivering eight Tejas Mk1A fighter jets within 24-36 months following a crucial engine supply agreement with General Electric (GE). The deal covers 113 F404-GE-IN20 engines for 97 aircraft, part of a Rs 62,370 crore procurement. Initial deliveries will be modest as HAL stabilizes its production line, with bulk production of 24 aircraft tranches starting later. Full order completion is expected by late 2031-2032.
