Toll Operations Kick Off
Shares of Highway Infrastructure saw robust buying interest, climbing as much as 6.95% to hit an intraday high of ₹54.28 on Tuesday. The surge followed an announcement confirming the commencement of toll operations at the Kaza Fee Plaza. This development on the Chilakaluripet–Vijayawada section of NH-16 in Andhra Pradesh became effective on January 23, 2026, signaling a new revenue stream for the infrastructure firm.
A Landmark Contract
The commencement of operations at Kaza Fee Plaza represents Highway Infrastructure Limited's (HIL) inaugural toll operations contract of this magnitude. Awarded by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), the project carries a total contract value of ₹328.77 crore. This mandate is the largest single toll operations contract executed by the company to date, marking a significant expansion of its tolling vertical.
Revenue and Order Book Boost
Under the terms of the Letter of Award, HIL is slated to operate the toll plaza for a one-year period. This arrangement effectively converts a significant order win into immediate operational activity and direct revenue generation. With the addition of the Kaza Fee Plaza project and other recent order wins, HIL's consolidated order book has expanded substantially, now standing at ₹1,144 crore.
Management Outlook
Arun Kumar Jain, managing director of Highway Infrastructure, described the commencement as a crucial milestone in the company's growth trajectory. He highlighted the project's reflection of NHAI's confidence in HIL's operational capabilities and its strategic importance on a key national highway corridor. Jain reiterated the company's focus on disciplined operations, technology-driven efficiency, and sustainable long-term value creation, supported by a growing order book and an asset-light execution model.
