ELGi Enters Vacuum Technology Market
ELGi Equipments Ltd., a prominent manufacturer of air compressors, officially inaugurated its new vacuum pump assembly line at its headquarters in Coimbatore. This expansion marks a significant diversification for the company into the vacuum technology sector.
Strategic Partnership for Growth
The new assembly line is a direct outcome of a multi-year technology licensing agreement with D.V.P. Vacuum Technology S.p.A., an Italian firm. Under this pact, ELGi will manufacture, assemble, test, and market D.V.P.'s proprietary vacuum products across India. This collaboration leverages established European technology with ELGi's robust manufacturing capabilities.
Diversification and Quality Focus
Vacuum technology represents a natural adjacency to ELGi's core competency in compressed air solutions. The company aims to create a strong, future-ready portfolio by integrating these offerings. The new facility is designed with ELGi's Total Quality Management (TQM) philosophy, ensuring meticulous control over quality and reliability for globally competitive products.
Global Aspirations
Managing Director Jairam Varadaraj expressed confidence in combining European technological expertise with ELGi's disciplined manufacturing, extensive service network, and quality-centric culture. This synergy is expected to deliver highly reliable vacuum solutions to customers in India and, eventually, in international markets. Products from this new line will come with a two-year warranty.
