Massive Funding Round for Defense Tech Giant
Anduril Industries has closed a significant $5 billion Series H funding round, achieving a staggering $61 billion valuation. This capital injection, led by prominent investors Thrive Capital and Andreessen Horowitz, more than doubles the company's valuation from just under a year ago, when it raised $2.5 billion at $30.5 billion.
Revenue Surge Fuels Growth
The nine-year-old defense technology company announced revenue doubled to $2.2 billion in 2025, a key metric underpinning its soaring valuation. CEO Brian Schimpf noted that defense was not historically an attractive sector for venture capital, but this has "changed meaningfully" in recent years, a sentiment echoed by substantial funding rounds for competitors like Shield AI, Hermeus, and Helsing.
Navigating a Competitive Landscape
While Anduril's growth is undeniable, the U.S. Department of Defense is demonstrating a strategic shift toward diversifying its partnerships. For instance, the Air Force recently selected Shield AI's software to integrate with Anduril's autonomous fighter jets, rather than awarding a sole contract. This indicates a trend where government clients aim to leverage multiple emerging technology providers.
Expanding Global Reach and Contracts
Despite sharing the stage, Anduril has secured numerous contracts, expanding its footprint beyond the U.S. Recent announcements include participation in a contract to develop a space-based missile defense system for the continental U.S. and securing deals with the Dutch Ministry of Defense and the U.S. Army for its Lattice platform. This continued success highlights the company's robust technological capabilities and market penetration.
