Stock Movement on Acquisition News
Aegis Logistics' shares surged approximately 5.80% on Monday, reaching ₹768.25 per share on the BSE. This significant uptick followed the integrated logistics provider's announcement regarding an acquisition update.
The strong buying interest saw nearly 1.4 million equity shares, valued at an estimated ₹108 crore, change hands across the NSE and BSE by midday. Despite the gains, the stock remains nearly 26% below its 52-week high of ₹1,035.70, touched on January 1, 2025.
Deal Structure and Stake Sale
The upward momentum was fueled by the disclosure of a Share Purchase Agreement (SPA) dated January 2, 2026. Aegis Gas (LPG) Private Limited (AGPL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Aegis Logistics, and Vopak India B.V. entered into the SPA with Aegis Vopak Terminals Limited (AVTL).
Under the agreement, AGPL will sell 6,21,146 equity shares, representing 51% of its stake, and Vopak will divest 2,92,303 equity shares, constituting 24% of its holding in Hindustan Aegis LPG Limited (HALPG), to AVTL. This transaction updates a prior proposal from October 29, 2025, which concerned AGPL's 51% stake sale in HALPG.
Board Representation
While Aegis Logistics itself is not a direct party to this share purchase agreement, the transaction will grant AVTL the right to appoint a nominee director on the board of Hindustan Aegis LPG Limited. This appointment will become effective from the date the shares are officially sold under the SPA.
