Acme Universal Safezone turned profitable with a ₹7 crore net profit for the first half of the fiscal year, recovering from a ₹8 crore loss previously. Revenue grew 16% to ₹120 crore, supported by strong export performance. Investors should track how the company executes its planned solar plant and facility expansion using IPO funds, while considering the inherent risks of SME-listed stocks.
Acme Universal Safezone has reported a significant turnaround in its financial performance for the first half of the current fiscal year. The company, which recently debuted on the BSE SME platform, posted a net profit of ₹7 crore. This result marks a strong recovery compared to the same period last year, when the firm incurred a net loss of ₹8 crore.
Revenue growth has been a primary contributor to this improved performance. The company reported revenue of ₹120 crore for the period, representing a 16% increase from the ₹103 crore recorded in the previous year. This growth highlights the rising demand for the company’s specialized industrial safety footwear. Furthermore, operational efficiency improved notably, with EBITDA rising 55% to ₹13 crore, signaling better control over operating costs compared to the previous year.
A key driver of this financial improvement was the company’s performance in international markets. The firm generated ₹10 crore in exports during the first half alone. This figure is particularly significant as it represents roughly two-thirds of the total export sales the company achieved during the entire previous fiscal year, suggesting a successful push to broaden its market base.
Following its initial public offering, the company is now moving to deploy its capital toward strategic growth. Managing Director Nitin Tiwari has stated that the company plans to focus on infrastructure and market expansion. The proposed initiatives include a major capital expansion program to boost production capacity and the construction of a captive solar power plant. The solar project is intended to reduce the company’s dependence on external power sources and lower overall operational expenses in the long term. Beyond these upgrades, management is exploring potential acquisitions within the industrial footwear sector to consolidate its market share.
For investors, while the move to profitability is a positive indicator, it is important to balance this against the specific risks that come with companies listed on SME platforms. SME-listed stocks typically experience lower liquidity compared to those on the mainboard, which can make it harder to enter or exit positions. Additionally, while the expansion plans are clearly defined, the actual execution of these capital-intensive projects—such as the solar plant and potential acquisitions—will be the main factor determining whether the company can maintain its current growth momentum. Investors should closely monitor the progress of these infrastructure investments and the consistency of export demand in future quarterly results.
