On Tuesday, November 4, 2025, 3M India's stock experienced a significant rally, reaching an intraday high of ₹36,666, marking a 19.50% increase. By 10:21 AM, the shares were trading at ₹35,994.65, still up 17.32%, while the BSE Sensex saw a marginal decline.
The primary catalyst for this surge was 3M India's strong performance in the September quarter of FY26 (Q2FY26). Profit After Tax (PAT) jumped by 43% year-on-year (Y-o-Y) to ₹191 crore, compared to ₹134 crore in the same quarter last year. Profit Before Tax (PBT) also saw a substantial increase of 37% Y-o-Y, reaching ₹251 crore from ₹183 crore. Sales and other operating income grew by 14% Y-o-Y to ₹1,266 crore from ₹1,111 crore. Earnings Before Interest, Tax, Depreciation, and Amortisation (EBITDA) rose by 33.1% Y-o-Y to ₹268 crore.
Ramesh Ramadurai, Managing Director of 3M India Limited, highlighted a 14% sales growth in Q2FY26 over the previous year, attributing it to broad-based growth across all four business segments: Healthcare (14.9%), Consumer (14.6%), Transportation & Electronics (12.9%), and Safety & Industrial (12.3%). He noted that the company maintained higher sales and marketing spend to enhance market penetration, thanking the teams for their execution.
Impact This strong financial performance and broad-based growth are highly positive signals for investors. The robust PAT and sales figures, coupled with encouraging management commentary, are likely to boost investor confidence, potentially leading to sustained stock price appreciation. The company's strategic investment in sales and marketing suggests a focus on future growth, which is a positive indicator. Impact Rating: 8/10
