The cellulosic staple fibre (CSF) division saw revenue grow 14% to ₹4,614 crore and its EBITDA doubled to ₹588 crore. This performance was due to higher volumes and favorable pulp prices, with domestic CSF prices remaining stable despite market shifts.
Chemical Segment Shows Steady Growth
Revenue in the chemicals business increased by 7% to ₹2,458 crore, and EBITDA rose 3% to ₹304 crore, driven by better profitability in caustic and chlorine products.
Building Materials Segment Achieves Record Revenue
Grasim's building materials division achieved a record quarterly revenue of ₹30,042 crore, a 19% increase year-on-year. Strong contributions from cement, paints, and B2B e-commerce boosted the segment's EBITDA by 22% to ₹5,386 crore. Initial expenses for the new paint brand 'Birla Opus' slightly impacted this growth.
Paints Business and E-commerce Expansion
The decorative paints business, under the 'Birla Opus' brand, increased its market share by 90 basis points quarter-on-quarter, securing the third position in the organized market. The company has implemented strategic pricing to address rising input costs and competitive pressures. The B2B e-commerce platform, Birla Pivot, more than doubled its revenue and expanded its offerings significantly.
Financial Year Performance
For the full fiscal year 2026, Grasim Industries reported a 33% rise in net profit to ₹10,300 crore and an 18% increase in revenue to ₹1,75,431 crore.
