Strides Pharma Q1 Profit Jumps 57% to ₹165.5 Crore

Strides Pharma Science posted a 56.7% rise in net profit to ₹165.5 crore for the June quarter, driven by strong growth in non-US markets. Revenue grew to ₹1,265.4 crore as the company balanced geopolitical cost pressures with a diversified international strategy. Investors will track whether this momentum continues amid rising freight and operating expenses.

Strides Pharma Science Ltd. reported a strong start to the new fiscal year, with profit after tax reaching ₹165.5 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2026. This is a 56.7% jump compared to the ₹105.6 crore profit recorded in the same quarter last year. The company's total revenue also rose to ₹1,265.4 crore, up from ₹1,119.7 crore in the previous year.

International Market Strength

The primary driver for this performance was growth in markets outside the United States. Revenue from these international regions hit ₹587.5 crore, representing a 17% year-on-year increase. Management stated that long-term investments in these regions are now contributing more significantly to the company's financial results. In contrast, the US business, which remains a core part of the portfolio, saw more modest growth, contributing ₹628.2 crore with a 4% rise.

Managing Operating Costs

Despite the growth in profit, the company faced pressure on its operating margins due to external factors. Geopolitical tensions led to an increase in freight and logistics costs, which impacted the company by approximately ₹13.1 crore during the quarter. To counter this, the company achieved an EBITDA of ₹229.8 crore, a 5% year-on-year increase. Leadership has indicated that they are actively focusing on cost-optimization measures to help protect profit margins from further volatility in global supply chain expenses.

Strategic Outlook for Investors

For investors, the key to Strides Pharma's future performance lies in its ability to maintain its diversified market strategy while controlling rising logistical costs. The company is currently balancing its traditional reliance on the US market with newer revenue streams from international territories. Future updates from the management regarding how they plan to manage these geopolitical cost pressures and the sustainability of the 17% growth rate in non-US markets will be important to monitor. Furthermore, observing the company’s ability to stabilize its operating margins will provide insight into how well it can absorb future global cost fluctuations.
