Neuland Labs Corrects 24% From September Peak Of ₹24,000

Neuland Laboratories has corrected 24 percent from its September 2026 peak of ₹24,000. As the company shifts toward a contract manufacturing model, investors are weighing its current 42x forward valuation against its long-term growth plans in peptides and sterile injectables.

Neuland Laboratories has seen its share price fall 24 percent from its recent peak of ₹24,000 in September 2026. This adjustment follows a period of high valuations, prompting investors to assess the company's growth trajectory as it moves toward becoming a contract development and manufacturing organization, or CDMO, which handles research and production for pharmaceutical firms.

Shift to Contract Manufacturing

The company has been transitioning away from its traditional generic API manufacturing business. As of FY26, the Contract Manufacturing Solutions (CMS) division accounts for 61 percent of the company's total revenue. This change is intended to secure higher-value contracts. However, because these contracts are often irregular, the company's quarterly revenue—which typically hovers around ₹600 crore—can see significant swings when large projects begin or finish. Management expects this volatility to decrease as its commercial portfolio becomes more established.

Growth Pipeline and Partnerships

Investors are currently looking at the company's future project pipeline. With 19 products already in the commercial phase, Neuland plans to introduce two to three additional products over the next two years, which may help stabilize revenue. The firm is also expanding into the high-barrier peptide market, which involves complex manufacturing processes. With 8 to 10 projects in the study phase, this area could emerge as a new revenue pillar within two years. Additionally, a collaboration with Gland Pharma to produce sterile injectables is a key development, as it leverages Gland Pharma’s regulatory-compliant infrastructure to reach specialized markets.

Valuation and Financial Health

From a valuation standpoint, the stock is trading at 42 times its one-year forward earnings. This is higher than its five-year average of 32 times. While the stock has faced downward pressure, the company maintains a healthy balance sheet with negligible debt. This financial position provides the flexibility to fund future expansion without heavy borrowing. As global pharmaceutical companies continue to seek alternatives to China for their supply chains, Neuland remains in a sector that may see continued interest. However, its long-term success will rely on its ability to execute on its current pipeline and manage its capacity expansion.

Moving forward, investors may track the progress of the peptide projects and the stabilization of CMS revenues as new commercial products are introduced.
