Lords Mark Promoter Sells 4.3% Stake; Goldman Sachs Buys

Promoter Sachidanand Hariram Upadhyay sold a 4.32% stake in Lords Mark Industries for ₹155.92 crore via open-market transactions. Goldman Sachs and AT Trade Overseas acquired shares, while the stock closed 4.2% higher at ₹89 on strong trading volume.

Lords Mark Industries saw active trading on Friday as promoter Sachidanand Hariram Upadhyay offloaded a 4.32% stake in the company through block deals. The shares were sold in two separate tranches at prices ranging between ₹84 and ₹84.86, resulting in a total transaction value of approximately ₹155.92 crore.

Institutional investors showed interest in the transaction, which helped to absorb the supply of shares in the market. Goldman Sachs Investments Mauritius I purchased 51 lakh shares, accounting for a 1.2% stake in the company, at ₹84 per share. Additionally, AT Trade Overseas, an entity associated with the Hisaria Group, acquired 30 lakh shares, representing about 0.7% of the equity, at the same price.

Despite the large volume of shares being offloaded by the promoter, the stock ended the trading session 4.2% higher at ₹89 on the BSE. The sharp rise in trading volume indicates that investors were actively participating in the day's trading, reflecting high liquidity during the block deals.

For investors, promoter stake sales are significant as they alter ownership patterns. While a reduction in promoter holding can sometimes raise questions about future business confidence, the entry of large institutional players like Goldman Sachs often provides a stabilizing signal to the market. Before this transaction, promoters held an 80% stake in Lords Mark Industries as of June 2026.

Lords Mark Industries is a diversified firm with operations spanning several segments, including healthcare, diagnostics, and renewable energy. Investors will now look to the updated shareholding disclosures from the company to see how the ownership mix has shifted after these deals. Tracking these forthcoming exchange filings will be important to understand if any other major changes occurred in the shareholding structure during these bulk transactions.
