The Department of Pharmaceutical (DoP) in India has introduced the Promotion of Research and Innovation in Pharma-MedTech Sector (PRIP) scheme with a Rs 5,000 crore outlay. Aimed at transforming the sector into a global innovation hub, the scheme has already attracted over 700 applications. Selected proposals can receive funding up to Rs 100 crore to support R&D in new medicines, complex generics, biosimilars, and medical devices.
