Jaipur-based healthtech startup Aignosis has raised Rs 4 crore in seed funding led by Antler and Nikhil Kamath. The company plans to use the capital to scale its AI-assisted autism and developmental screening platform. It aims to conduct 100,000 screenings by fiscal year 2026-27 by embedding its technology into existing private and public healthcare networks.
Aignosis, a Jaipur-based healthtech startup, has secured Rs 4 crore in a seed funding round led by Antler and Nikhil Kamath. The round also saw participation from Varun Dua and IIMA Ventures. This funding is intended to support the company's shift from research and validation to wider market deployment, with a specific target of performing 100,000 screenings by the end of fiscal year 2026-27.
Technology and Regulatory Status
The company has developed an AI-driven tool designed to assist in the screening of autism and developmental delays in children aged 16 months to nine years. A key aspect of the technology is that it operates using standard equipment, such as a laptop and a webcam, to analyze behavioral signals like gaze patterns and facial reactions. Importantly, the company has received Class B certification from the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO), which provides a regulatory validation of its screening tool. It is important to note that the software provides a risk assessment report rather than a definitive medical diagnosis.
Business Model and Partnerships
To scale operations, Aignosis uses a 'Clinic-in-Clinic' model. Instead of building independent diagnostic centers, the firm integrates its software into existing pediatric practices and government primary health centers. This strategy is designed to improve early detection rates at a lower cost than traditional models. To facilitate this, the company has established partnerships with Mankind Pharma, which is helping the startup leverage its medical representative network for screening camps, and the Apollo SHINE Foundation, which is implementing the tool across 125 schools.
Execution and Market Considerations
Aignosis is a private, venture-backed startup and is not a publicly traded company. As an early-stage firm, its growth depends on the successful adoption of its AI tools by medical professionals and the effectiveness of its distribution partnerships. While the company has already completed over 8,000 screenings, scaling these operations into new regions like the National Capital Region, Punjab, Haryana, and other states involves significant operational hurdles. Success for the company will depend on its ability to maintain reliable diagnostic outcomes, manage regulatory requirements, and ensure that healthcare providers and parents trust the AI-based risk assessment in the diagnostic process.
