Vikram Solar Bags 400 MW Module Order for Maharashtra Project

Vikram Solar has secured a 400 MW contract to supply its high-efficiency N-Type TOPCon modules for decentralized projects in Maharashtra, with deliveries starting in October 2026. This deal follows recent manufacturing expansion efforts, including a 1 GW cell partnership with Avaada Electro and a 124 MW project in Andhra Pradesh, as the company scales its domestic order book.

Vikram Solar has won a 400 MW solar module supply order for decentralized energy projects in Maharashtra. The contract involves the deployment of the company’s proprietary 620 Wp high-efficiency N-Type TOPCon G12R modules. These modules utilize advanced glass-to-glass, bifacial, and half-cut cell technology designed for better power output. The supply process for this project is scheduled to begin in October 2026.

This contract is a significant addition to the company's order book, reflecting the strong demand for higher-performance renewable energy components in India. By focusing on N-Type TOPCon technology, Vikram Solar is aligning its product offerings with the industry's shift toward more efficient modules, which provide better generation capacity compared to older technologies. This technology focus is a key part of the company's strategy to capture demand in both the utility-scale and decentralized solar markets.

Vikram Solar has been actively scaling its manufacturing footprint. This order follows several other strategic developments in the current quarter. Earlier this month, the company entered a 1 GW domestic cell supply partnership with Avaada Electro to ensure a steady stream of ALMM-compliant components for its production lines. Being compliant with the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers is a critical requirement for companies supplying projects backed by government-linked or utility-scale tenders in India. Additionally, the company secured a 124 MW module supply agreement for an installation in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, with production timelines aligned to match the October delivery window.

Beyond domestic manufacturing, the company has also focused on strengthening its international presence. In August, it acquired Vikram Solar Australia Pty Ltd, transitioning the entity into a wholly owned subsidiary to potentially access new regional growth opportunities. These consecutive wins and the focus on capacity building highlight the company's efforts to secure its position in a competitive renewable energy market.

While the renewable energy sector in India has strong growth prospects driven by government energy targets, manufacturers face ongoing challenges such as raw material price volatility, high competition, and the need for significant capital spending to expand production capacity. For observers of the business, the next important monitorable will be the successful execution of these orders within the scheduled timelines. Success will depend on the company's ability to maintain cost control, manage supply chain logistics for raw materials, and operate its new manufacturing lines at efficient levels to protect profit margins.
