Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma encouraged industrialists based in Bengal, who have ancestral roots in Rajasthan, to consider investing in his home state. Speaking at the Pravasi Rajasthani Diwas Roadshow in Calcutta, Sharma emphasized Rajasthan's improving business environment and expanding infrastructure, noting policy measures to address shortages in electricity and water availability. He invited these entrepreneurs to establish ventures in Rajasthan, suggesting a comparative analysis of profitability with their existing businesses in Bengal. The Chief Minister specifically highlighted opportunities in tourism, textile, mining, renewable energy (solar and wind), oil refining, and petrochemicals. He also extended an invitation to the Pravasi Rajasthani Divas event in Jaipur on December 10. Sharma claimed that out of the ₹35 lakh crore investment proposals attracted during the 'Rising Rajasthan' summit in 2024, approximately 20 percent have already commenced.
Prominent industrialists present included Shashwat Goenka (RP-SG Group), who indicated plans for significant investments in Rajasthan, building on the group's existing electricity distribution franchises and a new solar module factory. Umesh Chowdhary (Titagarh Wagons) expressed satisfaction with the support from the current administration and resolution of past issues.
