Sensex, Nifty Set for 4th Day of Gains as Crude Oil Softens

Indian stock markets are poised for a fourth consecutive day of gains on November 3, 2026, supported by cooling crude oil prices and strong buying from foreign investors. Investors are also focusing on positive Q2 earnings from companies like Marico to sustain the current market momentum.

Indian equity indices, the Sensex and Nifty, are positioned for a fourth straight day of gains on November 3, 2026, as domestic sentiment receives a lift from a cooling global energy market. The recent decline in Brent crude oil prices, which have retreated to the $104-$105 per barrel range, is providing relief to investors. Lower oil prices are typically seen as a positive for India’s economy, as they help reduce the national import bill and support currency stability.

Foreign Portfolio Investors (FIIs) have played a significant role in this market momentum, with net purchases of ₹3,114.70 crore recorded on November 2. This consistent inflow of foreign capital has helped counterbalance selling pressure and sustained the upward trend in major indices. The Indian rupee is also expected to hold a stable position in the 94.75-94.78 range against the U.S. dollar, further assisted by the easing energy import costs.

Corporate earnings are also helping to shape investor sentiment. Marico, a key player in the consumer goods sector, recently reported strong results for the second quarter of fiscal year 2027. The company saw a 31% year-on-year increase in its consolidated net profit, while its operating profit margins expanded to 18.19%. Such results are offering confidence to the market, as investors look for signs of demand resilience. Other major firms, including Dr. Reddy's Laboratories, remain in focus as the market processes upcoming performance reports.

Despite the positive trend, investors are maintaining a cautious approach due to global uncertainties. Ongoing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, including reports regarding security incidents near transit routes, remain a potential risk factor that could disrupt energy supplies and cause oil prices to spike. Additionally, the upcoming U.S. midterm elections and ongoing volatility in global technology stocks are keeping market participants alert. These factors combined suggest that while the immediate trend is positive, market movements may remain sensitive to sudden global developments or shifts in foreign capital flows.

The key focus for traders and investors in the coming sessions will be whether this momentum can continue despite the external pressures. Market participants will likely track upcoming corporate updates and any fresh cues regarding energy prices and geopolitical stability to gauge the sustainability of the current rally.
