RVNL, Welspun Win Orders; JSW Energy Gets Regulatory Relief

Infrastructure firms RVNL and Welspun Enterprises have secured new contracts worth over Rs 755 crore. Additionally, JSW Energy received a legal boost in a power sector case, while institutional activity remains high with notable block deals and stake acquisitions.

The infrastructure sector saw a boost as two companies announced new project wins. Rail Vikas Nigam has secured a contract worth Rs 404.88 crore from East Coast Railway. Separately, Welspun Enterprises, through its subsidiary Welspun Michigan Engineers, won two sewer rehabilitation contracts from the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation valued at Rs 351.24 crore. These wins add to the ongoing order books of both firms, though investors may track the actual speed of project completion and cost management as key factors for long-term performance.

In the power sector, JSW Energy received a favorable verdict from the Appellate Tribunal for Electricity. The tribunal set aside a previous order from the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission, allowing the company to include interest costs incurred during the construction phase as part of its project value. This decision could support the company's financial calculations for its subsidiary, JSW Hydro Energy. Future updates on how this impacts profit margins will be important for market observers to monitor.

Elsewhere in the market, institutional activity is shaping sentiment. HDFC Mutual Fund increased its stake in Entero Healthcare Solutions, acquiring a 3.19 percent share in a transaction worth Rs 235.6 crore. Meanwhile, Vanguard Group has been increasing its holdings in several mid-cap companies, including Avalon Technologies, Pine Labs, SJS Enterprises, and SKF India. These moves highlight continued institutional interest in specific growth-oriented segments.

Separately, a large block deal is set to take place in the private company Lenskart, with the Platinum Jasmine A 2018 Trust reportedly looking to sell a 1.7 percent stake worth over Rs 2,047 crore. Since Lenskart is not a publicly traded stock, this primarily affects private investors. Additionally, Nestle India issued a clarification regarding its product compliance, confirming that its labeling practices align with scientific literature and expert standards set by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India.
