A central part of this modernization is the National Statistical Office’s (NSO) adoption of Computer Assisted Personal Interviewing, or CAPI. Instead of manual entry, field officers now use handheld devices that perform immediate validation checks on the data as it is collected. These devices are linked to centralized servers, which allows for real-time monitoring and includes GPS tagging of surveyed households. By automating parts of the process, the ministry aims to significantly reduce the time lag between data collection and the final release of reports.

Public accessibility has also been expanded through the eSankhyiki portal and the Microdata Portal, which allow users to access anonymized unit-level data from various socio-economic surveys.
