AI Use Spreads Across Young Workforce
India's young professionals are increasingly using AI tools for their careers. A large majority of Gen Z (85%) and millennials (91%) report feeling comfortable with AI for tasks related to learning, career planning, and personal well-being. This shows how deeply AI is becoming part of the Indian professional landscape, with workers actively using new technology to advance.
Call for AI Training Programs
Companies are being encouraged to provide specific AI training to meet the demand from their younger employees. More than half of Gen Z (54%) and a majority of millennials (60%) are actively looking for more AI education. Many have already completed AI courses, with completion rates of 32% for Gen Z and 35% for millennials. Experts recommend integrating AI skill development into company training and career paths to foster innovation.
Economic Worries Hamper Plans
Despite their excitement about technology, financial concerns are a major obstacle for young Indians. Fifty-four percent of Gen Z and 44% of millennials have postponed important life decisions because of money issues. The high cost of housing is a significant problem for 37% of Gen Z and 20% of millennials. Job security is the biggest worry for both groups, with 27% of Gen Z and 34% of millennials naming it as their primary concern. This highlights a gap between their tech ambitions and their current economic reality.
Values and Leadership Goals Shape Careers
Beyond skills and money, young people are increasingly choosing jobs based on company values. Forty-eight percent of Gen Z and 41% of millennials would not work for a company that goes against their beliefs. The younger generation also has strong ambitions for leadership, with 96% of Gen Z and 93% of millennials aiming for senior positions. This reveals a generation that is ambitious, mindful of values, and seeks both career growth and purpose in their professional lives while navigating a difficult economy.
