India has consolidated 29 old labour laws into four new Labour Codes, set to transform the lives of over 50 crore workers. Key reforms include retaining the Rs 20 lakh gratuity ceiling, maintaining double overtime wages, and easing leave eligibility to 1 day for every 20 days worked after 180 days. These changes aim to simplify compliance, modernize provisions, and significantly upgrade workers' rights and welfare across organised and unorganized sectors.
