Short Description:

The Indian stock market, represented by the Nifty, achieved strong gains last week, closing at 25,910 and showing resilience despite a terrorist incident in Delhi. It is nearing its all-time high, with key resistance levels identified at 26,104 and 26,277. Positive sentiment is further boosted by the NDA's victory in Bihar, suggesting increased confidence for upcoming assembly elections, while the end of the results season and evolving US economic outlook are also market factors.
Indian Stock Market: Nifty Soars, Eyes Record Highs Amidst Resilience; Key Levels to Watch

The Indian stock market demonstrated robust performance last week, with the Nifty index climbing 1.64% to close at 25,910, achieving gains across all five trading days. This significant upward movement occurred despite a bomb blast in Delhi on November 10, indicating market resilience to acts of terror. The Nifty's closing price of 25,910 marks the second-highest weekly close ever, approaching the all-time high of 26,277 set on September 27, 2024.

Key Technical Levels and Outlook:

Immediate resistance for the Nifty is observed at 26,104 (the last swing high) and subsequently at the all-time high of 26,277. Crossing these levels could pave the way for a target of 26,600. The market also witnessed a significant gap up on November 12 between 25,715 and 25,781, which now acts as the first support level, with a further support zone identified between 25,740 and 25,715. The Nifty's ability to rebound above trendline No. 74 on November 7 after an initial dip has further strengthened the positive technical structure.

Political and Economic Influences:

The decisive victory of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Bihar elections, though largely factored in, is seen as reinforcing confidence for the NDA's approach to upcoming assembly elections in states like Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and West Bengal. The terrorist incident in Delhi is expected to heighten security consciousness and empower enforcement agencies.

Globally, while the US government shutdown has ended, the US Federal Reserve's commentary suggests no interest rate cut in December. The conclusion of the September quarter results season on November 15 removes a layer of uncertainty, potentially leading to reduced volatility and a favorable environment for mid- and small-cap stocks to perform.

Impact:

This news has a significant positive impact on the Indian stock market, as it highlights market resilience, strong technicals, and potential for further upside, driven by political confidence and easing economic uncertainties. The market's ability to absorb negative news like the terrorist attack underscores its strength.
