The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has announced delays in processing some income tax refunds for the 2025 assessment year. This affects taxpayers with high-value refunds or those whose claims have been flagged for unusual or incorrect deductions. Smaller refunds are being processed without delay, and the CBDT aims to clear all pending refunds by the end of this month or by December. The department is also enhancing its review of tax returns to ensure accuracy.
