V-Guard Industries: Geojit Sets Rs 404 Target After Q1 Growth

Geojit Financial Services has initiated a 'Buy' rating on V-Guard Industries with a target price of Rs 404. The move follows a strong Q1 FY27 performance where the company reported a 23.5% revenue jump and a 76% increase in profit. While growth is broad-based, investors should monitor raw material costs and the integration of its Sunflame acquisition.

Geojit Financial Services has issued a 'Buy' recommendation for V-Guard Industries, setting a target price of Rs 404 per share. This outlook follows the company's robust financial results for the first quarter of fiscal year 2027, where V-Guard reported a revenue of Rs 1,810.65 crore, marking a 23.5% increase compared to the same period last year.

The company’s profitability saw significant improvement during the quarter, with Profit After Tax (PAT) surging by 76.4% year-on-year to Rs 130.25 crore. A key factor behind this performance was the expansion of EBITDA margins, which rose by 210 basis points to 10.5%. According to the brokerage, this margin improvement was driven by strategic price increases and a favorable product mix, which helped the company manage inflationary pressures.

V-Guard's performance showed a clear regional divide, with its core South Indian markets outperforming other regions. The South Indian segment recorded a growth of 37% year-on-year, compared to a 12% growth in non-South markets. This regional strength, coupled with timely price interventions, helped the company maintain stability despite a challenging environment for consumer durables.

Monitoring Risks and Execution

While the recent numbers are positive, there are specific factors that investors should monitor. The consumer durables sector often faces pressure from the volatility of raw material prices, particularly for commodities like copper, which can impact gross margins if costs rise significantly.

Additionally, the company is in the process of integrating its Sunflame acquisition. Successfully managing this integration and ensuring that the brand contributes positively to long-term profitability remains a key area for execution. Competitive intensity in the appliance market is also high, and maintaining demand levels during periods of seasonal fluctuation will be important for sustained growth.

Looking ahead, the market will focus on how V-Guard manages these cost pressures while scaling its operations. The company’s ability to maintain its margin expansion in upcoming quarters, alongside the performance of its newer business segments, will likely determine its ability to meet the growth expectations set by analysts.
