Trent Limited, a key player in the retail sector under the Tata Group, saw its stock price increase by 2.21% to ₹2,905.30 on Monday. This movement follows the release of its financial performance for the period ending March 2026, which highlights steady growth across its main business segments.

Financial Performance and Growth

For the quarter ending March 2026, Trent reported revenue of ₹5,027.99 Crore, a 19.23% increase compared to the same period last year. Net profit for the quarter showed a sharper rise of 37.29%, reaching ₹429.18 Crore. Capital Allocation and Balance Sheet Strength

Operational cash flow saw a significant boost, rising 60.66% to ₹2,667 Crore for the fiscal year ending March 2026. This reflects the company's ability to generate cash from its core retail operations. Meanwhile, the company increased its spending on expansion, with cash outflows for investing activities reaching ₹1,578 Crore. This aligns with the 41.96% rise in fixed assets noted on the balance sheet, reflecting ongoing investment in store network expansion and infrastructure. Notably, the company has maintained a disciplined approach to debt, with its debt-to-equity ratio improving to 0.07, indicating very low use of borrowed funds.

Upcoming Corporate Events

Looking forward, the company has scheduled a board meeting for August 6, 2026. Investors often track such meetings for updates on corporate strategy, potential investments, or future expansion plans. This meeting comes after the company successfully held its 74th Annual General Meeting in June 2026. Earlier this year, Trent also completed a bonus share issue in a 1:2 ratio, which adjusted its equity base. Market participants will continue to track how the company balances its aggressive store expansion plans with maintaining profit margins in a competitive retail environment.
