Sky Gold Hits 52-Week High After Q1 Profit Surges 140%

Sky Gold and Diamonds Limited shares reached a new 52-week high of ₹815.95 today after reporting a 140.7% jump in Q1 FY27 profit to ₹104.9 crore. The company raised its annual revenue target, but investors should note a recent cyber fraud incident at a subsidiary that may impact upcoming financials.

Sky Gold and Diamonds Limited shares surged to a new 52-week high of ₹815.95 on the National Stock Exchange during trading on August 10, 2026. The stock reacted positively to the company's first-quarter financial results for the 2027 fiscal year, which showed a significant improvement in profitability and revenue.

For the quarter ended June 30, the company reported a consolidated net profit of ₹104.9 crore, marking a 140.7% increase compared to the same period last year. Total consolidated revenue for the quarter reached ₹2,012.8 crore, an increase of 77.9% year-on-year. This performance was supported by strong demand for the company’s lightweight and value-added jewelry, which has been a key area of focus for its recent expansion.

The company's operating efficiency also improved, with EBITDA margins expanding by 148 basis points to reach 7.8%. Reflecting this strong start to the fiscal year, management has updated its outlook, raising its revenue guidance for FY27 to approximately ₹8,100 crore.

While the headline numbers indicate strong growth, investors should consider several financial and operational factors when evaluating the business. The company disclosed a cyber fraud incident involving its subsidiary, Starmangalsutra, which resulted in a loss of approximately ₹10.70 crore. This development occurred after the quarter ended and is a point to monitor, as it could weigh on the company's financial results in the second quarter.

Furthermore, while revenue grew rapidly, the company's interest expenses rose by 91% compared to the previous year, growing at a faster pace than the overall income. Managing this debt cost will be important for maintaining profitability as the business scales. Additionally, Sky Gold operates in a working-capital-intensive jewelry manufacturing sector, which requires careful management of cash flow and exposure to gold price volatility. Sustaining growth in this competitive landscape will depend on how effectively the company executes its product expansion and manages these associated financial pressures. Investors may continue to track the resolution of the fraud case and the company's ability to maintain its margin levels against rising borrowing costs.
