Sheela Foam Q1 Profit Rises 839% To ₹61.4 Crore, Revenue Hits ₹1,032 Crore

Sheela Foam reported strong Q1 FY27 results, with revenue crossing the ₹1,000 crore mark for the first time. Net profit surged to ₹61.4 crore, driven by volume growth in its mattress and foam segments and expanding digital sales. While the results mark a significant milestone, investors are now tracking how the company manages its debt and the integration of its acquired businesses.

Sheela Foam, the manufacturer of Sleepwell mattresses, reported a strong start to the new fiscal year with its first-quarter results. For the period ending June 30, 2026, the company recorded consolidated revenue of ₹1,032 crore, marking a 26% increase compared to the same period last year. This result is significant as it marks the first time the company’s quarterly revenue has crossed the ₹1,000 crore milestone.

The company’s net profit jumped to ₹61.4 crore, a substantial rise from the ₹6.54 crore reported in the first quarter of the previous fiscal year. While the 839% percentage increase reflects a strong recovery, investors should note that this growth is partly amplified by the low profit base in the corresponding quarter of last year. A clearer indicator of operational performance is the earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA), which grew by 45% to reach ₹109 crore.

Operating margins also improved, rising to 10.6% from 9.2% a year ago. This improvement suggests that the company is becoming more efficient in managing its core operations, even as it scales its business.

Segmental Growth and Digital Strategy

The company’s performance was supported by volume growth across its core products. Mattress sales volume rose by 6%, while the foam segment saw a 4% increase. Beyond physical retail, Sheela Foam is seeing success with its digital strategy. The company reported a 69% year-on-year rise in sales through its proprietary website and a 19% increase in sales via e-commerce marketplaces, highlighting the growing importance of online channels in its revenue mix.

Financial Context and Risks to Watch

For investors, the path forward involves monitoring several key financial and operational factors. The company is in a phase of inorganic growth, having acquired brands like Kurlon. Successfully integrating these large acquisitions without disrupting margins or operations remains a primary goal for management. Furthermore, the company carries a debt burden of approximately ₹411 crore, which investors should track to assess the impact on financial flexibility and cash flow.

The consumer durables sector remains highly competitive, and Sheela Foam must continue to navigate potential volatility in raw material prices. If these costs rise, the company’s ability to maintain its improved margins will depend on its pricing power in the market.

Investors can expect more detail on these topics during the company’s scheduled investor conference call on August 5, 2026. Tracking the sustainability of these margins and the progress of its expansion strategy will be the next important steps for shareholders.
