Redtape Declares ₹2 Dividend; Stock Ex-Date Tomorrow

Footwear maker Redtape has recommended a final dividend of ₹2 per share for FY26. Investors must hold the stock before the ex-dividend date tomorrow to be eligible for the payout. The company reported a significant jump in annual net profit to ₹240.55 crore, supporting the decision to return cash to shareholders.

Redtape, a key player in the Indian footwear and apparel market, has announced a final dividend of ₹2.00 per share for the fiscal year 2026. This payout is subject to approval by shareholders at the company's upcoming Annual General Meeting. For investors, the most immediate detail is the ex-dividend date, which is set for tomorrow, July 31, 2026. To be eligible for this distribution, investors must have the company's shares in their demat accounts by the end of trading today.

The board's decision to distribute dividends follows a period of growth for the company. In its financial results for the full fiscal year 2026, Redtape reported a consolidated net profit of ₹240.55 crore, a notable rise from the ₹170.00 crore reported in the previous fiscal year. This growth in profitability was mirrored in the company's revenue, which reached ₹2,418.77 crore in FY26, up from ₹2,020.91 crore in FY25. The positive earnings trajectory in the recent quarter, where profit rose to ₹69.88 crore, has provided the financial foundation for this dividend payout.

Historically, Redtape's dividend policy has not been strictly consistent. While the company declared a dividend of ₹2.25 per share for the year ending March 2025, it did not pay dividends in 2024, 2023, or 2022. This shift suggests that the management is now prioritizing capital distribution to shareholders as the business scales. With a market capitalization of approximately ₹7,284.90 crore, the announced dividend represents a yield of about 1.52% based on the recent closing price of ₹131.78.

The company operates in the highly competitive lifestyle and footwear sector, where brand visibility and expansion into new retail footprints are major factors for success. Investors looking at this company often track how much money is spent on store expansion versus how much is returned to shareholders. Because the retail sector is sensitive to consumer spending trends and input costs, sustained profitability remains the key monitorable for long-term investors. Moving forward, the company's ability to maintain these profit margins while navigating raw material costs and competitive pricing will determine if this dividend trend continues in the coming years.
