Radico Khaitan Hits All-Time High After 76% Profit Surge

Radico Khaitan shares recently touched a record high of ₹4,613, backed by a 76% rise in Q1 FY2027 profit to ₹229.6 crore. The liquor maker's push toward premium brands has boosted margins to a record 20.7%. Investors are now focusing on the company's target to become net-debt-free by the first half of this fiscal year.

Radico Khaitan has seen its stock reach a new all-time high of ₹4,613.7 as of mid-August 2026, marking a significant milestone for the company. This market enthusiasm follows a strong performance in the first quarter of fiscal year 2027, where the company reported a consolidated net profit of ₹229.6 crore, representing a 75.91% increase compared to the same period last year.

This growth trajectory is a major shift from the company's beginnings three decades ago. Once struggling with high debt and a lack of proprietary brands, the company has successfully repositioned itself as a premium spirits player. The current financial health is defined by record-breaking operational efficiency, with EBITDA margins hitting 20.7% in Q1 FY2027, up from 15.3% a year earlier. This improvement largely stems from a change in the product mix, where high-margin premium brands contribute a larger share to overall revenue.

The company’s strategy of premiumization has been central to its recent success. Brands like the Rampur Indian Single Malt and Jaisalmer Indian Craft Gin have not only established a global footprint but have also helped the company command better pricing power. Even the mass-market portfolio, led by established names like 8PM Whisky and Magic Moments Vodka, continues to drive volume growth. These brands have helped the company capture significant market share in their respective segments.

Financial discipline remains a key focus for management. The company is actively working to reduce its leverage, having trimmed net debt by ₹138 crore during the June 2026 quarter. Management has set a clear goal to reach a net-debt-free status by the first half of the 2027 fiscal year, a target that the market is watching closely as a signal of strengthened financial stability.

Despite the positive momentum, investors should note the inherent risks in the liquor sector. The business is sensitive to fluctuating raw material prices, such as grain and fuel, which can put pressure on profit margins. Additionally, the liquor industry in India faces complex regulatory environments. Changes in state-level excise policies, taxation, or distribution regulations can directly impact profitability and sales volume. Competition is also intensifying, with both global conglomerates and domestic peers aggressively expanding their footprint in the premium alcohol segment.

Looking ahead, the key monitorables for shareholders will be the company’s ability to sustain these record margins amid potential cost inflation and the successful execution of its debt-reduction plans. Whether the company maintains its growth pace in the coming quarters, particularly as it navigates evolving regulatory landscapes across different states, will be the next major indicator for investors.
