The Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) has fined online pharmacy PharmEasy ₹2 lakh for illegally auto-subscribing users to paid services, a practice termed "basket sneaking." The CCPA found this violated consumer protection laws, as users' explicit consent was not obtained. PharmEasy has been ordered to change its platform design and terms to prevent such unfair trade practices.
