Parag Milk Foods Rallies 13% After Posting Record Q2 Revenue

Parag Milk Foods shares surged 13% as the company reported a record quarterly revenue of ₹1,241 crore for Q2 FY27. While revenue grew 23% year-on-year, net profit fell 8% due to higher raw material expenses, though it showed a strong recovery from the previous quarter. The company also announced the merger of its subsidiary, Bhagyalaxmi Dairy Farm, to streamline operations.

Parag Milk Foods saw its stock jump 13% on November 4, 2026, following the release of its financial results for the second quarter of the 2026-27 fiscal year. The primary driver for the market's reaction was the company's record quarterly revenue of ₹1,241 crore, marking a 23% increase compared to the same period last year.

Growth in Branded Segments

The revenue growth was supported by a 12% rise in sales volumes. The company's focus on branded dairy products appears to be paying off, with key categories like Ghee, Cheese, Paneer, and Curd contributing 63% of the total revenue. Additionally, the premium business segment, which includes brands like 'Pride of Cows' and 'Avvatar', recorded a significant 71% year-on-year revenue jump to reach ₹154 crore. This segment's growing contribution suggests a shift in consumer preference toward specialized protein and high-value dairy products.

Profitability and Cost Challenges

Despite the record revenue, the company faced pressure on its bottom line. Net profit for the quarter came in at ₹42 crore, an 8% decline year-on-year. This dip was primarily caused by the rising cost of raw materials, a common challenge in the dairy industry. However, the company showed a notable improvement in profitability on a quarter-on-quarter basis, with profits nearly doubling from the ₹22.05 crore reported in Q1 FY27. While the revenue growth is encouraging, investors often keep a close eye on these raw material costs, as milk procurement price fluctuations can directly impact operating margins.

Strategic Merger of Subsidiary

Alongside the financial results, the company’s board approved the amalgamation of its wholly-owned subsidiary, Bhagyalaxmi Dairy Farm Private Limited. The company aims to use this merger to simplify its corporate structure and achieve better operational efficiency. By integrating the subsidiary, Parag Milk Foods intends to optimize its supply chain and better utilize its existing distribution network across the country.

Future Monitorables

For investors, the key areas to track moving forward will be the sustainability of volume growth and the company's ability to manage raw material expenses. Since dairy businesses are sensitive to milk procurement prices, any sustained increase in these costs could continue to put pressure on profit margins. Additionally, the merger of Bhagyalaxmi Dairy Farm will require regulatory and NCLT approvals, which will be an important process for shareholders to monitor in the coming months.
