PC Jeweller Hits 52-Week High as Festive Demand Drives Rally

Shares of Indian jewellery retailers rallied on Friday, led by PC Jeweller climbing over 18%. Strong festive and wedding demand, alongside improved financial updates, fueled the surge across the sector. Investors are now focusing on the company’s upcoming earnings and the stability of consumer demand.

Indian jewellery stocks witnessed a strong rally on Friday, October 16, 2026, as investors cheered expectations of robust sales during the festive and wedding season. PC Jeweller was a primary mover, with its stock price jumping 18.68% to hit a new 52-week high of ₹17.15. The positive sentiment was widespread, lifting shares of other industry players like Senco Gold, Tribhovandas Bhimji Zaveri (TBZ), Thangamayil Jewellery, and Sky Gold.

The sector's positive performance is supported by strong business updates. Senco Gold recently reported a 31% increase in revenue for the September quarter compared to the previous year, helped by a 19% rise in sales from existing stores. Furthermore, official export data from the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council showed that India’s gem and jewellery exports rose 9.43% to $2.95 billion in September. Notably, exports of studded gold jewellery increased by over 31% in the first half of the fiscal year, suggesting high demand for premium products.

PC Jeweller has been in particular focus due to its ongoing debt resolution process. The company recently shared that all 14 banks in its lending consortium have issued no-dues letters, indicating a major recovery in its financial standing. This, combined with a bulk purchase of 5.10 crore shares by promoter Aditya Kumar Halwasiya, has bolstered investor confidence.

However, investors should be cautious. While the debt resolution is a positive step, the company has a long history of financial stress, and its business performance needs to be verified through consistent profitability. Jewellery companies are also sensitive to high gold prices, which can sometimes slow down customer demand if prices become too high for the average buyer. For the broader sector, growth will depend on how successfully companies can maintain their profit margins while managing the cost of gold and competitive pressure.

The next major trigger for PC Jeweller investors will be its earnings report, scheduled for release on October 21. Market participants will be looking for clear signs of improved cash flow and actual growth in its operations beyond the positive news regarding its debt clearance.
