Nykaa Q2 Net Profit Triples To ₹101 Crore; Fashion Arm Turns Profitable

FSN E-Commerce Ventures reported a 207% jump in second-quarter net profit to ₹101 crore, driven by a 28% rise in revenue. The company's fashion division achieved EBITDA profitability for the third consecutive quarter, while the board approved an 82% stake acquisition in premium brand Simply Nam to expand its beauty portfolio.

FSN E-Commerce Ventures, the company behind the Nykaa brand, announced a strong set of results for the quarter ended September 30, 2026. The company reported a net profit of ₹101 crore, a significant 207% increase compared to the same period last year. This growth was supported by a 28% rise in revenue from operations, which touched ₹3,006 crore during the second quarter of the current financial year.

The most notable performance metric was the fashion division, which recorded EBITDA (operating profit) profitability for the third quarter in a row. For a business segment that historically struggled with high customer acquisition costs and logistics expenses, this consistent profitability indicates a maturing business model. The overall company EBITDA grew 65% to ₹263 crore, with operating margins expanding to 8.7%.

Strategic Expansion and Retail Growth

To strengthen its position in the premium beauty market, the company’s board has approved the acquisition of an 82% stake in the makeup brand Simply Nam for ₹33 crore. This move aligns with the company’s broader strategy of focusing on premium offerings where average order values tend to be higher.

Nykaa is also continuing its push into physical retail. The company has expanded its store network to 338 outlets across 111 cities. With plans to reach 600 stores, management is betting on an omnichannel approach, where physical stores serve as a way to reach customers who prefer an in-person shopping experience alongside the online platform. On November 4, 2026, the company’s stock closed at ₹355.50 on the NSE, marking a 0.45% gain.

Investor Monitorables and Risks

While the results show positive momentum, investors should note the risks involved in this growth strategy. Although the fashion arm is profitable at an operating level, its margins remain thin, at approximately 0.2%. This means the segment is still in the early stages of proving long-term sustainability and profitability.

Furthermore, the e-commerce sector for beauty and fashion is highly competitive. Nykaa faces pressure from various online platforms and traditional retail chains. Additionally, the company's focus on premiumization means it relies heavily on discretionary spending. If there is a slowdown in consumer spending due to macroeconomic factors, the demand for premium beauty and fashion products could be impacted. Investors should continue to track whether the company can maintain fashion segment profitability while pursuing its aggressive physical store expansion plan.
