Milky Mist Q1 Profit Jumps Nearly Tenfold to ₹64.7 Crore

Milky Mist Dairy Food reported a net profit of ₹64.7 crore for the first quarter of FY27, up from ₹6.5 crore in the same period last year. Revenue rose over 43% to ₹973 crore, driven by strong summer demand for its premium dairy products. The company, which listed on the stock exchanges in August 2026, faces upcoming challenges related to rising milk procurement costs and competition in the organized dairy sector.

Milky Mist Dairy Food has posted a strong financial performance in its first quarterly earnings report since listing on the stock exchanges in August 2026. For the quarter ending June 2026, the company reported a consolidated net profit of ₹64.68 crore, marking a significant rise from the ₹6.53 crore reported in the same quarter last year. This growth was supported by a 43.6% increase in revenue from operations, which reached ₹973.45 crore.

Segment Performance and Summer Demand

The company’s revenue growth was primarily driven by the extended summer season, which boosted consumption of its premium dairy portfolio. Sales of ice cream and yogurt saw particularly strong momentum, with yogurt sales notably increasing as consumers moved toward protein-rich options. Paneer, the company’s signature product, remained a key revenue contributor, recording a 34% year-on-year growth. Management highlighted that the successful addition of nearly 200 new distributors helped the brand deepen its presence in existing regions and enter new markets.

Margin Trends and Cost Pressures

Operational efficiency played a role in the improved bottom line, with EBITDA increasing by 74.5% to ₹144.89 crore. This resulted in an EBITDA margin of 14.88%, showing better operational control during the period. However, the company faces potential pressure on its profit margins in the coming quarters. While no major price hikes were applied during the June quarter, the management has indicated that modest adjustments may be needed to offset the rising cost of raw milk procurement. Investors should track whether the company can maintain its current pricing power if these input costs continue to trend upward.

Market Position and Regulatory Risks

The organized dairy sector in India presents a large opportunity, as much of the market remains unorganized. Milky Mist is positioning itself to capture a larger share of the organized paneer market, where it currently handles a small fraction of total demand. A key monitorable for the business is the regulatory environment, specifically regarding food safety standards for dairy products. The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India has been tightening rules around analogue or non-dairy substitutes, which may affect the competitive landscape. Success in scaling its production capacity while navigating these regulatory changes and intense competition from other large dairy players will be essential for sustaining long-term growth. Shareholders will likely look for updates on capacity utilization and procurement cost management in the upcoming quarterly results.
