Meesho Shares Rise 5% After Festive Sale Orders Jump 75%

Meesho shares climbed 5% on Monday as the company reported a 75% year-on-year surge in day-one orders during its 'Mega Blockbuster Sale'. With over 75,000 orders per minute at peak, the festive momentum is driving investor interest. The company is now balancing this strong consumer demand with efforts to improve profitability and handle logistical pressure during the peak season.

Meesho shares climbed 5% on Monday, October 12, 2026, as the e-commerce platform released strong operational data from its 'Mega Blockbuster Sale'. The stock reached an intraday high of approximately ₹243, marking its best price levels since December 2025, as investors reacted to the massive spike in consumer activity at the start of the festive season.

The company reported a 75% year-on-year increase in order volume on the first day of the sale. Peak traffic reached over 75,000 orders per minute, a figure that highlights the platform's ability to handle high demand. Notably, orders through 'Meesho Mall' grew by over 200% compared to the previous year. Participation from sellers in smaller Tier 3 and 4 regions also continued to rise, indicating that the company's focus on deep-market penetration is gaining traction among budget-conscious shoppers.

From a financial perspective, the company is currently focusing on scaling 'Valmo', its internal logistics arm, which is essential for managing the cost of delivery. Market watchers are monitoring whether these operational efforts will lead to better financial results. Recent brokerage projections suggest that core operating profit margins could improve to around -4.8% for the July-September quarter. This is expected to be supported by a more robust advertising monetization model and improved logistics efficiency. Analysts have also projected a potential 28.5% year-on-year revenue increase for the same period.

Despite the positive sales data, the company faces significant challenges. The primary risk for investors is whether this surge in festive demand is sustainable once promotional periods and heavy discounts end. The Indian e-commerce sector is highly competitive, with larger rivals such as Amazon and Flipkart continuing to invest heavily in pricing and delivery, which can pressure market share and profit margins. Additionally, as a recently listed entity, the company's stock price may remain sensitive to broader market volatility and quarterly performance updates.

The key monitorable for investors will be how well the company maintains its logistical reliability as the festive season progresses. Future updates regarding the actual quarterly financial performance and management commentary on demand trends post-festival will be important to understand if this growth can lead to long-term profitability.
