Lenskart Q2 Net Profit Doubles To Rs 232 Crore, Revenue Hits Rs 2,845 Crore

Lenskart’s consolidated revenue for the September quarter grew 32.5% to Rs 2,845 crore, while net profit more than doubled to Rs 232 crore. The company, which now operates 3,624 stores, is scaling operations through a mix of vertical integration and technology. Investors may track the company's international execution and a pending tax dispute with the Customs department.

Lenskart Solutions has reported a strong performance for the second quarter of the 2027 financial year, with net profit rising significantly to Rs 232 crore. The company’s consolidated revenue increased by 32.5% to reach Rs 2,845 crore. This growth comes as the eyewear retailer continues to expand its physical footprint, which has now grown to 3,624 stores across the country.

The company’s performance is supported by its integrated business model, where it manages the entire process from designing frames to retail sales. By keeping most of the supply chain in-house, the company aims to maintain better control over its profit margins. Management has indicated that the focus remains on long-term growth and volume gains rather than short-term fluctuations, highlighting that the company has now surpassed Rs 10,000 crore in trailing 12-month revenue.

Domestic expansion remains a key part of the growth strategy, with revenue in India rising by 35.3% to Rs 1,668 crore. The company is actively opening new stores in smaller urban centers to reach a wider customer base. To manage this rapid scaling, Lenskart is deploying remote optometry technology, which allows stores to operate without needing a resident optometrist at every location. This tech has already been implemented in over 900 stores, facilitating faster expansion into regions where finding qualified staff is often challenging.

International operations also showed progress, with revenue growing by nearly 30% to Rs 1,201 crore. These markets reported double-digit margins for the second consecutive quarter, suggesting improved operational efficiency abroad. However, as the company scales globally, the ability to maintain these margins while managing competition and local regulations will remain a key factor for observers.

Investors should also note a pending tax dispute that could impact future financials. The company is currently contesting a demand notice of Rs 13.17 crore from the Principal Commissioner of Customs. This dispute involves how the company classifies imported frames that come with clip-ons. The company has stated it intends to fight the order and expects a positive legal outcome. Despite this, the potential for legal costs or tax payouts is a factor to consider.

Looking ahead, the main items for investors to track include the company's ability to keep up its rapid pace of store openings, the performance of its international segment, and any updates regarding the customs tax case. Because the stock trades at a premium, the market may expect consistent growth to justify its current valuation, making the management’s ability to execute its expansion plans without significant cost overruns a crucial monitorable.
