LT Foods Q1 Revenue Jumps 26% To ₹3,161 Crore

LT Foods reported a 26% revenue increase to ₹3,161 crore in Q1 FY27, led by strong performance in its Basmati and Specialty Rice segment. The stock rose 3.34% to close at ₹410.35 on Friday. Investors are monitoring the company’s ability to sustain growth in North American markets and manage profit margins amidst rising operational costs.

LT Foods finished Friday’s trading session at ₹410.35 on the NSE, marking a 3.34% gain following the release of its first-quarter financial results for the 2027 fiscal year. The company reported a consolidated revenue of ₹3,161 crore, up from ₹2,501 crore in the same period last year. Profit after tax saw a more modest growth of 9%, reaching ₹183 crore for the quarter.

Segment and Regional Growth

The company’s primary revenue driver, the Basmati and Specialty Rice segment, which accounts for roughly 90% of total income, grew by 34% year-on-year. A key factor in this growth was the North American market, where revenue increased by 49%. This performance highlights the company’s success in expanding its footprint in international markets. However, while revenue growth remained strong, the 9% growth in profit after tax compared to the 26% revenue jump suggests that rising costs may be impacting margins.

Market Performance and Valuation

The stock recorded a trading volume of 24.05 lakh shares, with a total traded value of ₹98.34 crore. LT Foods currently trades at a price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio of 21.56. With a market capitalization of ₹14,338 crore, the company has shown recent price strength, delivering a 12.51% return over the past month, which outpaced the Nifty 500 index during the same period. Despite this recent momentum, the stock is trading below its 52-week high of ₹507.80, and it has experienced a decline of 15.12% over the past twelve months.

Investor Monitorables

Investors looking at LT Foods should track how the company maintains its profit margins in the coming quarters, especially as it continues to expand its reach in competitive international markets. Managing input costs for rice procurement and balancing capital spending for distribution infrastructure will be important factors in future earnings reports. Additionally, the sustainability of the double-digit revenue growth in North America will be a critical metric, as any cooling in demand could impact the company's ability to maintain its current pace of expansion. The company’s ability to navigate potential supply chain pressures in the agriculture sector remains a core area for long-term monitoring.
