Indo National Ltd, known for Nippo batteries, has launched 'Nippo Airvue' to enter the air purifier segment, aiming for ₹100 crore in revenue by FY30. Investors may track this expansion as the company looks to diversify growth following a period of financial volatility and a long-term decline in sales.
Indo National Ltd, the company behind the legacy 'Nippo' battery brand, has entered the air purifier market with the launch of its new range, 'Nippo Airvue.' The company has set a target to generate ₹100 crore in revenue from this segment by the 2030 fiscal year. The new product line, which includes smart air purifiers and air quality monitors, will be sold through the company's established dealer network and e-commerce channels.
This move is part of a strategy to expand the company's portfolio into consumer technology and indoor air intelligence. The products are developed in collaboration with Medcuore Medical Solutions Pvt Ltd, a business in which Indo National increased its stake to 61.09% in July 2026. Management intends to use the existing brand equity and nationwide distribution reach of the Nippo brand to capture an estimated 15% market share in the air purification sector over the next five years.
For investors, this expansion comes at a time when the company is attempting to stabilize its financial performance. While Indo National reported a consolidated net profit of ₹2.01 crore for the first quarter of fiscal year 2027—marking an 88.2% increase year-on-year—this recent performance follows a period of financial instability. The company reported net losses in the quarters ending December 2025 and March 2026. Furthermore, the company has faced a challenge with historical sales growth, which has shown a negative trend of 3.18% over the past five years.
While the air purifier market offers potential, it is highly competitive and often seasonal. Demand in this sector can fluctuate significantly depending on pollution levels and weather patterns, which may create uncertainty regarding consistent, year-round revenue generation. Beyond the new product segment, investors may also monitor the company's broader financial health. Data indicates that the company has faced challenges with return on equity and return on capital employed in recent periods. Additionally, the company carries significant contingent liabilities of approximately ₹107 crore, a figure that is relevant to the overall strength of the balance sheet.
The key monitorable for investors will be whether this new segment can contribute meaningful and consistent profitability to the bottom line. Watch for future management updates on the sales performance of the Airvue range, the speed of distribution rollout, and whether this new revenue stream helps improve the company’s return ratios in the coming quarters.
