Twenty-six major e-commerce platforms in India have voluntarily submitted self-declaration letters confirming compliance with the Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) Guidelines for Prevention and Regulation of Dark Patterns, 2023. This initiative, involving internal or third-party audits, aims to eliminate manipulative design features that mislead consumers. The CCPA has lauded this move as exemplary, encouraging wider adoption to foster transparency and ethical digital experiences in India's growing online marketplace.
