Honasa Consumer Q2 Profit Jumps 87% to Rs 73 Crore

Honasa Consumer reported a 36% revenue increase to Rs 731 crore in Q2 FY27, while net profit surged 87% to Rs 73.2 crore. The company is successfully scaling newer labels to reduce its dependence on the flagship Mamaearth brand while expanding its offline distribution network.

Honasa Consumer, the parent company of the skincare brand Mamaearth, released its financial results for the second quarter of the 2026-27 financial year, showing strong growth in both revenue and profitability. The company reported a net profit of Rs 73.2 crore for the quarter, an 87% increase compared to the Rs 39.2 crore profit recorded in the same period last year. Revenue from operations reached Rs 731 crore, reflecting a 36% rise from Rs 538 crore in Q2 FY26.

Transition to a Multi-Brand Strategy

The financial performance highlights the company’s ongoing transition from a single-brand entity to a broader portfolio of consumer labels. While the flagship Mamaearth brand continues to grow, newer labels in the company's ecosystem are expanding at a faster pace, with growth exceeding 45% in this quarter. The company stated that these focus categories now account for over 80% of its total business revenue. This shift is part of a strategic effort to lower concentration risk by ensuring the business is not reliant on the performance of a single label.

Operational efficiency has also shown improvement, with EBITDA doubling to Rs 93 crore year-on-year. While profit declined sequentially compared to the previous quarter's Rs 90.4 crore, the year-on-year growth signals that the company’s business model is maturing. Expenses rose to Rs 652.4 crore during the period, but the company managed to keep the rate of spending lower than the rate of revenue growth, which helped in expanding operating leverage.

Scaling Retail Presence

Expansion of the offline retail network remains a central pillar of the company's growth strategy. Honasa has significantly scaled its general trade presence, now reaching approximately 3.2 lakh retail outlets. Its brand, The Derma Co, has also seen success in this strategy, with a retail point network exceeding 65,000. These distribution channels, combined with consistent performance in modern trade and e-commerce, have helped the company manage shifts in consumer demand.

Risks and Monitorables

Despite the positive performance, investors may track several factors that could influence future results. The company faces execution risks as it attempts to rapidly scale newer brands in a competitive skincare market. Additionally, volatility in the consumer goods sector, combined with the need to maintain margin discipline while spending on expansion, remains an area to watch. The company’s ability to keep its distribution strategy cost-effective as it enters more retail formats will be critical for future profitability. Shareholders will likely look for updates on demand trends and the success of newer product categories in the coming quarters.
