Dixon Technologies reported a 45% drop in quarterly profit despite a 42% rise in revenue. The company is also awaiting ₹1,110 crore in government PLI incentives, a matter that auditors have flagged for investors. Meanwhile, the board has appointed Prithvi Vachani as executive director.
Dixon Technologies has reported a sharp decline in profitability for the September quarter, even as revenue continued to grow at a strong pace. Alongside these financial results, the company is dealing with uncertainty regarding a substantial ₹1,110.06 crore receivable linked to government production-linked incentive (PLI) schemes.
PLI Incentive Uncertainty
The company is currently awaiting the final disbursement of ₹1,110.06 crore from the government’s PLI program. As of September 30, 2026, the relevant authorities have not yet finalized the payment. Dixon Technologies recognized this as income in the previous financial year, based on its assessment that other participants in the segment would not claim their full share of incentives, leaving room for the company to receive more.
To manage potential downstream costs, the company has set aside a liability of ₹576.95 crore, which it may need to pay to a customer under existing contracts. While the company believes these funds are collectible and has hired legal counsel to support its case, the situation remains a point of attention for shareholders. Notably, statutory auditors have highlighted the pending nature of these incentives in their latest review, though they did not modify their overall stance on the company's financials.
Quarterly Financial Performance
The company's earnings for the September quarter showed a contrasting trend between revenue growth and bottom-line stability. Consolidated revenue increased by 42% year-on-year to ₹21,863 crore. However, profit after tax fell by 45% to ₹411 crore. Operating profit (EBITDA) also declined by 37% to ₹666 crore.
While the quarterly numbers showed pressure, the performance for the first half of the financial year 2027 appeared more stable, with revenue rising 35% and net profit growing by 10%. Investors often look at these results to understand the company's ability to maintain margins in the competitive electronics manufacturing sector, where profit margins are typically thin and sensitive to operational changes.
Leadership Changes
The company also announced a change in its board, appointing Prithvi Vachani as an executive director for a five-year term, effective October 30, 2026. Prithvi Vachani, the son of executive chairman Sunil Vachani, has previously held roles within the organization, managing partnerships with major brands like Asus, HP, Jio, and Xiaomi. The appointment is pending final approval from shareholders.
Moving forward, investors will likely track the resolution of the PLI incentive payout, as this is a significant receivable for the company. Additionally, the ability of the business to stabilize its profit margins in the coming quarters will be an important metric to watch.
